Sanford’s artwork is an on-going series of visual explorations into contrasts and changes in the character of a subject with the time of day, year, or era, etc. His works explores the slicing or juxtaposition of moments and moods in an attempt to condense a period ~ (a series of related moments) ~ into a bold and unfamiliar expression expanding this context beyond the immaculate visual relationships.

Currently, he works in his home studio, SR Graphics and Design. The Studio is a small computer graphics company, producing high-end commercial art and communications.

The second mediums principally used in his work are acrylic, pastel, pencil, plaster, and foam.
